Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel recently gained business right and open door after a long overhaul and tedious revamp which lasted nine months and costs total whopping $30million. The just renovated 574 guestrooms five-star hotel, a part of Consortium of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, have their meeting facilities, communal space enhanced to the next level and more co-working lounge for a more eco-friendly use. Located along the 392 Havelock Avenue, the Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel near Singapore River, induced many new business and leisure travellers. Millennium Hotels and Resorts is a well-known international brand under Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, the mainboard-listed property estate developer conglomerate City Developments. “Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel’s recently expansion and renovation, particularly as MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions] travel gained back normalcy and in-person meetings resumed to the agenda,” says Kwek Eik Sheng, Chief Operation Director of Millennium Hotels and Resorts.  “We are well positioned to attract as much market share as possible in this fast-growing MICE market, and increase our competitive edge.” With increased demand of greener spaces, with corporate planners preferring hotels with strong sustainability features and initiatives. 33 functional conference rooms are added across three floors. Eco-friendly and energy-efficient measures are amplified through the usage of recyclable and biodegradable stationery, filtration water system and a table set-up without linen. Built-in filtration system are also individually installed in each hotel room, which according to the hotel chairman spokesperson, that will reduce significantly single-use plastic waste from bottled water consumption by 20%. “We have implemented creative and high-efficiency technology that reduces energy consumption, installed eco-friendly features such as in-room dispensers water system,” says Andy Tan, senior vice president of global operations and partnership at Millennium Hotels and Resorts.
